Early Roman Scorpion Battery

Early Roman Scorpion Battery
(WGH-IR-04)

Each Roman Century would be provided with a Scorpio Catapult to accompany them on thre battlefield but when fighting as a legion these would be combined to form a battery. Typically this would consist of 60 Scorpions and be located on a hill with the Legion protecting it's sides. With a rate of fire of up to four shots a minute this would send 240 bolts into the enemy army every minute. The weight and speed of these bolts would mean that shields and armour would offer little protection.
