Flame-thrower Company

Flame-thrower teams consisted of both flame throwers and a particularly effective but dangerous habit of placing several grenades within a knapsack to be thrown on, into or under German armour, bunkers, or defensive positions. Mortality within these units was high even for the Soviets but there are many stories of Heroes of the Soviet Union who gave their lives diving under German Panzers with a knapsack full of grenades. The pack contains four Flame-thrower teams in Sapper Body Armour.

As a Weapons Platoon of the Inzhenerno-Saperniy Batalon (Engineer-Sapper Battalion) in Red Bear the Flame-thrower Company allocates its Flame-thrower teams out to the Engineer-Sapper Companies.
