The Earl of Uxbridge
(GiM023)
I have had a pretty long run. I have been a beau these forty-seven years, and it would not be fair to cut the young men out any longer.
Henry Paget, 2nd Earl of Uxbridge.
1st Marquess of Angelsey
Although he is probably most ‘famous’ for losing his leg at the Battle of Waterloo, the Earl of Uxbridge was an experienced soldier and commander. He served as commander of the 80th Regiment of Foot during the 1794 Flanders Campaign, then went on to command Sir John Moore’s cavalry during the Peninsular War in Spain. He led the charge of the heavy cavalry at the Battle of Waterloo and only lost part of one of his legs towards the end of the battle.
28mm sized limited edition metal figure, supplied unpainted.
